We Link Primary Care Patients With Community Support to Help Improve Their Health and Well-Being Working closely with a number of GPs in Blackpool, Social Enterprise Solutions has been providing a social prescribing Community Navigator in surgeries since 2016.

DR!VE is an ambitious plan to support more than 200 new-start and existing businesses to grow in Lancashire over the next two years. Social Enterprise Solutions is partnering with the Social Enterprise Lancashire Network, Selnet, and our team of qualified business advisors will help to turn good business plans into business for good.

Social Enterprise Solutions is a major partner, working closely with SELNET, in the delivery of The Changing Futures project in Lancashire. This project is part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities programme, funded jointly by the European Social Fund (ESF) and The National Lottery Community Fund to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

Blackpool’s south beach is playing host to a fun day with a difference as local people look to raise awareness of loan sharks. And the centre-piece of the day will be a specially-commissioned 25-foot long shark that will be in the sea, near south pier.

Social Enterprise Solutions won a national award to create 18 new social enterprises in 18 months, generating 25 jobs in Blackpool offering an enterprise route to dealing with the town’s social issues. SES provide specialist start-up advice, support and access to a wider network providing the new social enterprises with a platform for sustainability.

Social Enterprise Solutions CIC was an approved provider organisation of The Lottery Funded Big Assist Programme and delivered strategic planning support to a number of infrastructure organisations across Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire.

Start Up Lancashire was supported by the European Regional Development Fund. It was a social enterprise start up programme that provided one to one business coaching, start up seminars and ongoing mentoring support to help businesses.

The need is to ensure that young people aged 13 to 30 are aware of the impact of social enterprise both locally and nationally, and are inspired to consider social enterprise in their future careers.

The over 50’s project was based on the workbook ‘Planning and Starting Your Business’. The course was designed to take the learner, in clear and straightforward steps, through the sometimes challenging process of planning to start a business. In addition to the workbook, the project included inspirational speakers, presentations from professionals and mentoring from CMI approved advisors.
