Social enterprises are businesses with social and environmental missions. Most are socially focused, some are predominantly environment-focused. Growing numbers are recognising and addressing the need to pursue both social and environmental objectives.
What is certain is that in order to prevent catastrophic levels of global warming, the way we do business has to change. We know that social enterprises are ahead of the pack when it comes to taking steps to address the climate emergency and that there is a widespread appetite within the sector to improve environmental impact.
Social Enterprise Solutions (SES) are social innovators and are currently working on ideas in our local environment that will address both social issues and the environment. More and more, the question is how to develop circular systems that enable existing materials to be used over and over again delivering high value goods and services. That is the real challenge of circular implementation. It sometimes gets forgotten that the circular economy addresses directly the problem of climate change.

Social Enterprise Solutions has been a leading member of our national infrastructure support organisation since 2008 and they have directly contributed to the development of SEUK in a number of ways; director, Clive Hirst, continues to provide a valuable contribution in his voluntary capacity as a council member. In addition, SES has developed a Social Enterprise Town concept collaboratively with Liverpool Hope University, ourselves and other key partners.
